When years of hard work and dreams begin to take shape in the form of two-by-fours. . . .it looks something like this!
The current building phase we're going through has probably been to most exciting yet! I've thought the same about previous phases, yet I still can't describe the feeling I get when I actually stand IN the rooms that were thoughtfully and carefully designed by Stephen & I. Surreal merely beings to describe the sensation.
To be brutally honest, the architectural phase is initially fun, yet it begins to drive you crazy because you revisit the same exact details hundreds of times, it seems. Agonizing over the size of the closet, placement of the staircase, layout of the bathroom. . . it all begins to run together eventually. To keep these thoughts streamlined, I had an unbelievably large amount of lists laying around. . . from "changes to be made to current plan" to "kitchen organization wishlist" (which is ever-growing still) to "difficulties with our current house that need to be remedied in the next" . . . the lists go on!
List game still strong, architectural plans permanently live on our dining room table and the build site is already our second home. I can't seem to walk through the rooms enough! And I haven't even been to the second floor yet. The stairs cannot be built quick enough! Only the first floor was being built at the time this photo was taken, but the second story is in full force already. I'll update again once I'm able to actually stand on the top floor!
